The famous Leaning Tower, located in the Square of Miracles, heritage site since 1987, is reached by a short walk passing through one of the ancient medieval gates called “Porta a Lucca.” Near the B&B to see is the archaeological site ‘Baths of Nero’, one of the few Roman ruins. Obligatory stop is the beautiful Piazza dei Cavalieri, designed by Vasari with the Palace of the Caravan and the tower where the fearsome Conte Ugolino was imprisoned, as mentioned in the Divine Comedy. Walking through the alleys, you will discover the beauty of a city that was first Etruscan, then Roman and great maritime republic in the Middle Ages.
